The direct and indirect costs for non-communicable diseases is over 70B CHF annually in Switzerland.
We build an ecosystems that enable stakeholders to identify individuals that will benefit from a dedicated programme and can improve their health.
What’s the problem you’re trying to solve?
The direct and indirect costs for non-communicable diseases is over 70B CHF annually in Switzerland, about 10% of our GDP. Studies claim, that up to 30% are unwarranted variation in health care service delivery, that cannot be explained by illness, medical need, or the dictates of evidence-based medicine. The WHO reports in their global strategy on diet, physical activity and health that risk factors can be reduced and that improved self-management would have a significant and sustainable big impact. Through early interactions, we support and improve the self-management of the individual in a personalized way. Thus, we reduce the number of severe incidents, increase the chance of a full and early recovery and avoid unnecessary recidivism.
What are your goals and milestones?
We build a platform and ecosystems that enable corporations, insurers, health care providers, public services and others (stakeholders) to identify individuals that will benefit from a dedicated programme and can improve their health. By the end of 2020, we want to have the first program running on the platform.
What’s your approach?
Identify individuals at risk prior to the onset of an episode of care, and support and improve the self-management through various interactions to achieve a change in behaviour that has a positive impact on the health of an individual. Interactions are defined in a dedicated programme that can be executed on the platform and where the impact can be measured. Providing a modular and integrated platform and building an open ecosystem we enable stakeholders to identify individuals quickly and deploy new programmes fast. Hence, while we aim big, we can start small and scale fast.
What’s the impact your aiming for?
Tackling the social, personal and economic burden of non-communicable diseases. By improving the health situation of individuals, we want to improve business continuity and enable individuals to keep or improve their quality of life.
